About the card
Two towers flank a path that leads from a pool, through fields, toward distant hills. A crayfish crawls from the water onto the path. A dog and a wolf both howl at a moon that hangs enormous in the sky — a full moon with a crescent, a face, sending fifteen yods down into the landscape. The path is real but shrouded; the moon illuminates everything with a light that is beautiful and disorienting in equal measure.
The Moon is the card of the unconscious in its most active and least manageable form. Lunar light is not solar clarity — it creates shadows, tricks the eye, and brings the hidden contents of the psyche to the surface.
